Concentration Curl
About Concentration Curl
The concentration curl is a strict isolation exercise done seated, the elbow braced against the inside of the thigh. This position removes all momentum and focuses the effort on the biceps, especially its peak. You raise the dumbbell slowly in supination, squeeze hard at the top, then control the descent through the full range. It is a go-to movement for improving the mind-muscle connection and 'finishing' the biceps at the end of a session. Since it fully isolates the muscle, there is no need to go heavy: contraction quality matters far more than the load here.

helpFrequently asked questions
Does the concentration curl really build the biceps peak?expand_more
It maximizes biceps activation through strict isolation, but the peak depends mostly on genetics and overall volume.
How much weight for the concentration curl?expand_more
Choose a light to moderate weight that lets you control every rep without swinging your body.
How many reps for the concentration curl?expand_more
Aim for 10 to 15 slow, controlled reps: it is a pump and connection exercise, not a pure-strength one. Chase the peak contraction at the top rather than the weight.
